FOCUS Acceptable Use Policy
Users agree to be: The following are acceptable conditions of use for this web site and all related Internet resources including mailing lists and directories.
Any questions or comments should be addressed by contacting the web masters.
Active: Do e-mail people that you know or people that you have a valid reason to contact.
Responsible: They will protect their individual accounts by declining to share their passwords. They accept responsibility for the content of the messages they post - in their real names - and recognize that access is a revocable privilege.
Ethical: They do not interfere with others' work, or with the performance of the network, by attempting to "hack" passwords, gain entry to closed areas of the network, or by knowingly or inadvertently introducing computer viruses.
Polite: They learn that the network is a social community with accepted standards of behavior - also known as "netiquette". They are expected to use appropriate language and to avoid launching personal attacks on people whose opinions differ from theirs.
Legal: Respect copyright, be sure if you are going to disseminate any material of which you are not the author, that you have the author's permission.
Clear: Send messages that are clear, concise and easily understood.
Furthermore, users agree to not:
Harass users by telephone, email or by any other means via the Internet or violate the privacy of other users. For example, do not send email to a user that the user finds disturbing/offensive, etc. If they explicitly ask you to stop, you must. Things like threats, etc. via email or are just as serious as threats via the telephone or regular mail.
Flood (or spam) Internet or send unsolicited bulk email, or begin/perpetuate chain letters, unsolicited commercial or advertising material, get rich quick schemes, etc.
Use the system to distribute or promote distribution of illegal copies of commercial software or other copyrighted materials.
Finally, remember that email and correspondence and access to this web site can be identified and the account holder will always be held responsible for actions carried out
